Norms
These norms are intended help make the Innovation Lab accessible to all classes and ensure that there is a common understanding of the ways in which the space is used. It is hoped that there is always scope for professional discussion, negotiation and compromise.
The Innovation Lab consists of the indoor and outdoor spaces located centrally in the senior block
The Innovation Lab must be booked in order to use the space
Bookings may be short-term, e.g. one lesson, or long-term, a number of days
Bookings include all of the equipment in the lab, although use of the equipment (e.g. 3D printers) by other classes may be negotiated
No equipment may be removed from the Lab
The Lab is to be left neat and tidy with everything put away at the end of a booking
It is understood that some uses of the space may be ongoing beyond a booking, e.g. environmental monitors, but this usage must be kept neat and ordered
Bookings always take precedence over incidental use of the Lab
When in use, the Lab should not be used to pass between other rooms
The rules of the Lab are to be followed at all times
Students must be supervised in the Lab at any time
Where disagreement occurs over the use of the Lab, professional discussion between those involved should be the first recourse
