Rubrics

Rubrics are one of the most important aspects of PBL and should be introduced at the start of the PBL and referred to throughout. They are the guiding stars for students and teachers and keep everyone on track.

In the early years up to halfway through Year 3 rubrics will be teacher produced. As students get older they can become involved in developing their success criteria and this become an important learning tool.

Explicit teaching

Rubrics are the place where PBL meets explicit teaching as they define clearly the learning intentions and success criteria.
